Bird Refuge: Sarus Crane: The rarest bird I've seen Thursday BLOG

Image
We went to the Bird Refuge on Shiloh, actually to look at certain grasses that are key to bird specie in grasslands and wetlands. While we were there I saw Swallows, Canvasbacks, Harlequin Ducks, Mallards, and the Sarus Crane.  I got some great clear photos of the species, but in the wild I would not have gotten the same photos. It was just nice that they were so close, to take pictures of.

Ferret release Thursday BLOG

Image
Here is a collection of photos I took while releasing Black Footed Ferrets on the Crow reservation. Unfortunately I am still trying to figure out my camera settings and had some trouble getting good focused photos of the ferrets. But I did get some pretty awesome sunset photos, which are below. I used my Canon Rebel, and I had my Aperture Value set at 16.

First Light room edited photo Thursday BLOG

Image
This is my first photo that I edited in Light Room. I really liked all the options that I could use to edit my photo and make it the best it can be. I did have trouble editing the glare from the lake, I couldn't figure out how to use the brush tool. That would be the one thing I would change if I can figure it out. Otherwise, I really like this photo, I am still learning how to use my canon, so it's not as close and focused as I would like it to be.
